| It's time to liven up that backyard bbq or tailgate party with some Dakota Style Chicken! "This Chicken Cooker is really something to crow about!"
To use:
Grab a can of your favorite liquid, beer, apple juice, tomato juice, wine.... Drink about 1/3 of it. While you are enjoying that refreshing beverage, rub the bird down with some butter and a few spices of your choice. Get a little daring and add some additional seasonings to the liquid still in the can. Set the 2/3 full can of liquid on the cooker. Place the bird vertically on its perch, on top of the can. Place the cooker on the grill, over low heat, for about two hours.
Hint: To keep the chicken from sticking to the can, spray the outside of the beer can with a non-stick cooking spray.
Add a little spice:
- Fiesta Chicken: Add 2-3 tablespoons of tabasco sauce to the beer can before setting the bird on its roost.
- Italian Chicken: Add 1/2 cup Italian dressing to the beer can prior to cooking.
- Chicken on the Wagon: Substitute tomato juice or nonalcoholic beer for the beer.
- The Breathalyzer: Add 1/2 tablespoon crushed garlic to the beer prior to putting the bird on the fire.
- Dakota Style Bronzed Chicken: Rub the bird down with butter & some Mrs. Dash prior to cooking.
- Sweet Chicken: Add 3 tablespoons honey and 3 tablespoons sweet BBQ sauce to the beer prior to cooking.
The Beer Butt Chicken Roaster is also great for other uses:
- Use a small can of apple juice or tomato juice for a cornish game hen.
- Use a can of apple juice or tomato juice to cook a pheasant.
- Flip the cooker over to grill a pizza.
- Use a drip pan to use your cooker in the oven.
- Use the spikes for grilling sweet corn, potatoes, onions, garlic, artichokes, or tomatoes.
