Pouring the perfect glass of beer is an artform that anyone can master. Just follow these simple steps to ensure the ideal pour that will make your friends think you've been a bartender all your life.
Rinse well & chill: First rinse your beer glass with cold water until the glass feels chilled in your hand. Do not put the glass in the refrigerator or freezer.
Tilt & pour: Tilt the glass under the tap at a 45° angle and open the tap, all with one smooth motion. Make sure foam is generated within the base of the glass, and then run the beer under the foam.
Align the head: Carefully straighten your glass when it is 3/4 full, making sure the tap does not touch the beer. The bottom of the head should line up with the horizontal line in the Heinekin® red star on the glass (about two fingers' width from the top edge of your glass).
Skim it: Sit the glass to the side of the tap on the drip tray. Wet your skimmer and hold it at a 45° angle. Scrape the top of the glass in one smooth motion. Shaving off the excess foam helps to seal the head and prevents carbonation from leaving the beer. This seals in flavor and helps the beer last longer.
