| Measuring the temperature of your food as it cooks is a great way to be sure your food is safe for consumption. Another way is to be sure to avoid cross-contamination, which can often happen when using a probe thermometer. Using the CDN Infrared Thermometer will avoid this. An infrared thermometer is a non-contact surface thermometer that reads the surface temperature of the item it is scanning without touching it. You can read the temperature of raw meat and then cooked meat without having to sanitize the thermometer in between.
The CDN Infrared Thermometer has a temperature range of -67 to +428°F (-55 to +220°C), with a +/- 1.1°F (0.6°C) accuracy. The shatterproof thermometer is housed in food-safe ABS plastic. The thermometer has a 1-second response time that is faster than traditional instant read thermometers. The one-button operation makes for ease of use.
The infrared thermometer should be used at a distance of 1:1. This means that if your pot is 10" in diameter, your thermometer should be within 10" of the surface it is measuring. The thermometer has maximum, minimum, and lock function. Maximum means that the read-out will be the highest temperature of multiple targets. Minimum means that the lowest temperature will be viewed for multiple targets. Lock mode lets you continuously measure a surface for up to 60 minutes.
The thermometer has a data-hold function that will store your last reading, a battery status indication read-out on the LCD screen, and automatic shut-off. A rope mount and pouch for storage are included. Infrared thermometer uses one 3V Button IEC CR2032 Lithium batteries.
