It looks beautiful and sturdyCons:
It split along the seam after a little over a month. It felt uneven and rough. No customer service from Boos. This is an edge grain and not and end grain board. Not thick enough to prevent warping.Summary: This is my first Boos board. I have been using a piece of plywood for a cutting board and wanted to step up to a real board. Cooking shows, the CIA, Cooks Illustrated, MasterChef, etc. recommended this brand. Even after conditioning the board after first getting it with Boos Mystery Oil everyday for the first week and every week for a the first month, it split along the seam. There was a high spot or it warped after 3 months. I used light soap and water and put on side to dry. I never put in the dishwasher or left it soaking in water. I also used 5:1 ratio white vinegar to disinfect. It was so not worth the price and doesn't live up to the reputation. I will have to re-plane, re-glue, and re-sand and re-oil this to get it reworked. For the $69.99 I didn't expect to have this much maintenance. I have to go back to my piece of plywood.
