Staub Enameled Cast Iron

In 1974, Francis Staub began elevating utilitarian cast iron into beautiful and highly functional cookware, and the professional culinary world quickly took notice. Staub enameled cast iron marries the age-old material with the finest quality, durable enamel in a design that stays true to France's rich culinary heritage. The cookware is unparalleled for browning, braising and stewing our most treasured classic comfort foods.

Staub cast iron cookware flawlessly delivers a fantastic searing heat, or transfers even, regulated heat from any type of stove top or oven. Each piece is molded by sand-cast and individually burnished by hand to smooth the edges and weed out imperfections. The heavy, fitted, flat lids are designed with innovative basting spikes to capture more moisture and rain it down evenly over foods and the interiors receive Staub's proprietary matte black enameled glaze. It protects the cast iron from rust, while still allowing nonstick properties to develop, just as they would on unprotected cast iron. Then the exteriors are coated by 2-3 applications of richly colored, high-quality enamel that hardens to a smooth glass-like surface. Staub's modern majolica-colored enamels are extremely chip, scratch and stain resistant to provide durable protection from rust and thermal stress. As with all cast iron, Staub pieces are heavy compared to other types of cookware. So they are appropriately cast with a pair of very strong loop handles that are easy to grip and provide secure portability. The lids are fitted with large, functional and attractive knobs made from nickel or brass, (depending on the color glaze) that are oven safe and heat safe up to 500°F. All Staub enameled cast iron pieces are factory seasoned for easy to clean, nearly non-stick properties right out of the box. And although the cookware is dishwasher safe, hand washing will promote the development of nonstick properties. A manufacturer's lifetime warranty is included with all Staub cookware. hide...
