Fortessa Large Egg Coddler
The Fortessa Large Egg Coddler gently and slowly cooks eggs for a variety of breakfast and brunch dishes. The coddler is made from borosilicate glass and includes a glass lid with metal clip that seals tightly closed during cooking. Originally designed by William Wagenfeld in collaboration with Erich Schott for Jenaer Glass in 1931, the Egg Coddler is ideal for preparing eggs as well as desserts, pates and puddings. The unique and utilitarian shape of the glass coddler promotes even heating for better cooking. The coddler is heat-resistant, oven and refrigerator safe. Whether you're creating perfectly boiled eggs, individual servings of gratins or mini souffles, this coddler is versatile enough to handle them all. Plus, it's dishwasher safe for quick and simple clean up. To use, butter the interior of the coddler, drop in the egg and season to taste, seal the lid, and immerse the entire coddler into hot, but not boiling, water. Eggs can be served in the coddler when they are finished cooking. 16 oz capacity.
