The Shun Higo-No Kami Personal Steak/Gentleman's Knife is a razor-sharp folding knife of superior craftsmanship and understated elegance. The basic design goes back 150 years, and is considered the first Japanese "pocket knife". When closed, the Higo-No Kami measures only 3" in length, and a section of the tang protrudes to be used like a lever to easily open the blade. When open, a locking liner secures the blade in place for use, and measures 6" long. The slender, lightweight blade is forged from a polished, stain-resistant VG10 "super steel" and it is fantastically sharp. The refined ebony Pakka Wood handle features a detailed mosaic inlay and polished steel pins and pivot bolt. Over the history of this design, the Higo-No Kami was the businessman's choice for cutting fruits, cheeses and meats at the table. It is now resurfacing as a personal steak knife, which well suits the razor-sharp, clean-cutting edge. The Shun Higo-No Kami Personal Steak/Gentleman's Knife includes a sumptuous leather sheath that is ideal for storage and gifting. Hand washing is required and the knife is backed by Shun's limited lifetime warranty.
