The BV 1900TS is Bonavita's next generation design of their hugely successful BV 1800 line, and like the 1800 before it, this new model has been recognized by the Specialty Coffee Association of America as part of its Certified Home Brewer Program. The BV 1900TS is an 8 cup model with several improvements and updates. The first is a new double wall design thermal carafe that has a stainless steel interior and exterior that will keep your coffee hot for hours. Another improvement is a switch to a flat-bottomed filter basket and larger showerhead, which allows for even better saturation and uniform flavor extraction. Plus the brewer now has two brewing modes: normal or pre-infusion mode which pulses water through for optimal saturation and to allow fresher grinds to degas. The thermoblock heater has been upgraded to a powerful 1500 watt version that releases precisely between 195°-205°F to achieve optimum flavor extraction. The BV 1900TS is just like the 1800, only better! All plastic used in this coffeemaker is BPA-free.
